Crazy Family Holidays--ugh
TIm came to my house for Christmas! I was way grateful not to go to
his parents. I'm going to have to learn to like them, I guess, but I
don't see why should have to right now. Why is it families have so
much trouble mixing? I mean, like, we're all good enough people--we've
all got table manners and none of steal--far as I know--and you'd
think that sharing a meal, one stupid meal, wouldn't be so effing
hard. But there you go. It sucks. His mother drives me nuts with her
"oh on your side of town this" and her "oh with your background that"
The woman ought to just check my teeth and be done with it.
Hey, I make a living. What does the woman want--some girlie-girl whose
daddy pays her way? That would make me better? I bet she thinks that
would make me more virginal. Ha. Fat lot she knows about those little
princesses. And a fat lot she knows bout her son.
I mean my mom drives me up a ll sometimes but that's just cause she
talks too much and doesn't know what she's talking about.--she's never
a snob and she welcomes everybody. ANyways she and Tim got along great
and Christmas was great and even Mercie came over for a while. She
went to lots of places on Christmas day. I think she was afraid to
stay too long at home--talking of moms who drive you nuts. I'm
surprised she goes home at all. She spent some of the day at
Paul's--lots of wedding talk there. She's been asked to read a poem or
something. I'm working the guest book--had to give us female friends
of the groom something to do! And she denies it but I think she spent
