Another Saudi Family Convicted of Slavery in Colorado
The Saudi couple in Colorado kept their Indonesian "slave" for three
years where she slept on a mattress on the basement floor and was paid
less than $2 a day. Al-Turki is also accused of repeatedly sexually
assaulting the woman.

A Saudi woman was convicted of holding an Indonesian woman in her home
as a slave. Her husband is expected to plead guilty on Friday:
A Saudi Arabian woman indicted with her husband for keeping a young
Indonesian woman in their home as a virtual slave pleaded guilty to
reduced charges today in federal court.
Sarah Khonaizan, 35, pleaded guilty to a charge of harboring an
alien in the U.S. for private financial gain. Her sentence could
range from probation to up to a year in prison, depending on how
federal sentencing guidelines fall in the case. Her sentencing is
set for July 28. Prosecutors have agreed to seek a sentence of
probation with home detention.
Khonaizan and her husband, Homaidan Al-Turki are charged in U.S.
District Court and in Arapahoe County District Court with keeping
the woman in their home for four years, forcing her to perform long
hours of housework and child care for very little Pay. Al-Turki is
also accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting her.
Khonaizan is expected to plead guilty in the state case on Friday.
Defense attorney Forrest Lewis said Khonaizan pleaded guilty to put
the case behind her. Facing deportation as an illegal alien
convicted as a felon, she has agreed to return to Saudi Arabia once
her obligations to the courts are completed.
This is not the first time that a Saudi family living in the US was
convicted of slavery or of viciously abusing servants.

In March of last year a Saudi Arabian Princess living in Winchester,
Massachusetts was arrested on federal charges of enslaving two
Indonesian women to care for her wheelchair-bound prince and unruly
sons who allegedly spit on them.
** In 2001...
Another Saudi princess, Princess Buniah al-Saud, was charged for
abusing her "help":
Neighbors called 911 Friday after Ismiyati, 36, ran crying from the
apartment she shared with the princess. She told deputies al-Saud
beat her, hit her head against a wall and pushed her down a flight
of stairs, leaving her unable to walk.
"When we talked to her (Ismiyati) through an Indonesian interpreter
and saw the extent of her injuries, we upgraded the charges to a
felony," Stewart said.
Ismiyati told deputies she "couldn't take it anymore."
On a 911 tape released by the sheriff's office, Ismiyati can be
heard crying hysterically in the background while a neighbor talks
to a dispatcher.
"Help me. Help me. The boss pushed me down the stairs," Ismiyati
told the dispatcher through an Indonesian translator on the
telephone.
In addition to cooking, cleaning and laundering clothes, Ismiyati
Memet Suryono said she stayed by Princess Buniah al-Saud 24 hours a
day. She stood at the shower to open and close the curtain when the
princess bathed, she said, and was not allowed to close her bedroom
door at night in case the princess needed her.

In another account of the incident in 2001, the servant, Soryono, said
the abuse started when they moved to the US:
When Buniah, 41, arrived there last March to study at the
University of Central Florida, she brought Soryono, 36, as her
personal servant. In Saudi Arabia she had never hit her but,
claimed Soryono, this changed in Florida. She says she was slapped
for minor misdemeanours - such as walking in front of the princess
while they were shopping.

Princess Maha al-Sudairi, wife of the heir to the throne, was accused
of beating her driver:
She pummeled her driver, a man named Hamada whom she suspected of
taking $200,000.
When al-Sudairi found out about the missing money, she threw a vase
or potted plant at Hamada and then screamed and hit him,
investigators said.
Deputies working off-duty at the time watched as the princess
removed a sandal and beat Hamada, then punched him. The deputies
did not report the battery.
Maha al-Sudairi was later appointed consulate at the Arab-French
Chamber of Commerce!

in any detail since the seventh century and cannot ever be -
says about chattel slavery. If one is a devout Muslim, can one
interfere with chattel slavery? Only infidels would dare say
that a slave does not belong body and soul to his master. The
"Religion of Submission" is not just a label.

Yup. Filippinas tell similar stories. About once a year, one is
arrested for assault or murder when she hits back...and those
are the only cases we hear about.
As I recently noted on my blog, President Arroyo just visited
there and brought back 200 she got released from jail. But
since the Philippines needs the overseas workers money, one
doubts she pressured them into giving the one million
Filippinos there any human rights...so I guess my relatives
will have to leave their bibles and rosaries behind.

I'm a US citzen living in Hong Kong. It is literally impossible
for me to bring my Indonesian maid to the US with me when I
return for extended stays. I have battled with the US embassy
over this and been told that it is not permitted and no entry
visa will be issued.
Similarly, it is impossible for US citizens living in the US to
bring Indonesian or Filipina domestic workers to the US.
So how the hell are these Saudis able to do something that is
forbidden to US citizens?
Why is a foreign visitor being granted a privilege denied to
taxpaying citizens?

Who was the "anti-American leftist" who would excuse
mistreatment of a worker, abuse of a person of color and sexual
assault? I must meet these leftists who have abandoned all
interest in workers' rights, the fair treatment of minorities
and women. As for the ACLU, if the servant were engaged in a
civil action they might get involved, but I'm unclear why they
would be part of a criminal prosecution unless it were to help
the defendant. It's the government's job to prosecute crime,
not the ACLU's.
Good point Michael, those evil women are always masterminding
their husbands' sexual assaults.

i am an american citizen living in saudi arabia and i for one
do not believe a word these housekeepers say they are insane i
saw my houskeeper burning herself and calming that my children
did so and i have video footage to prove it at first i thought
it was true then i thought about gettin evidance to support it
so i put up cameras all around the house (found a few shocking
things that arent relative to this topic) and i witnessed her
beating my children and burning herself and throwing herself
down the stairs then calling the police who were iterrogating
me about abusing her. they do have rights here more than
anyone! yet when i showed them the video they took her away and
sent her back to her country for them to deal with her. another
story is my sister had a housekeeper she brought her back to
the US she did the same thing to get taken away and live freely
in the US they look for ways to get out of their country for
free they are insane i honestly dont belive any of these things
at all. they dont beat their maids here its simple is she isnt
doing her job right they just give her extra money for
terminating them before their contract is over and they send
them back to their country. they dont agree to slavery here its
against their religion and against the law, anyone working as a
driver, housekeeper, butler or nanny must have a contract and a
very high salery its unbelievable that they get less than $2 a
day. my housekeeper who only cleans the house and does the
laundry is getting paid $800 a month if she has to do more like
childcare and cooking she must not be paid less than $1500 per
month, dont be fooled by what they say they are simply trying
to get money out of people who they know are extremely rich and
by the way each one gets more than just her salary, her food,
clothing hygenic supplies etc are paid for by whomever she
works for. and they get to go all over the world for free!!
hell i wouldnt mind working as a housekeeper it pays good money
sure it has long hours but getting to travel to paris and have
a day off every week to walk around and do as i please i
wouldnt mind that at all

Yeah, a Saudi with US citizenship. I have lived and worked in
the Middle East for 5 years and this is all true. Even Third
Country Nationals (TCNs) who work in Malls and factories rarely
make more than $500 a month - it's a lie that domestics earn
more, it's a lie that they get a bonus for extra work, and it's
a lie that they are not beaten and deprived. I have seen it
with my own eyes in public places.
These excuses from "anonymous" are lies, lies, lies... How can
he sleep at night, defaming the truth?
Now, I am going to be Anonymous, too... because I don't want to
be tracked down by these peace overs and murdered for being

translation of the quran contains twisted facts and endless
